Hi, I'm Steve.

Founder & Solo Developer, VoiceForEternity

A couple of years ago, my mother passed away. We weren't especially close, but as time went on, I found myself missing her more than I expected. I'd go back to the photos I had of her — that's really all I had — and lean on them to get through the harder moments. I had the same experience with my in-laws: plenty of pictures, but nothing else. No voice. No stories in their own words.

I never had the chance, or the foresight, to record my mother's voice while she was here. I wish I had. That's the honest reason this project exists.

VoiceForEternity started with a simple thought: if someone has the chance to save a voice, a story, a recipe, a memory — anything of the person they love, while there's still time — they should take it. Because later, after that person is gone, those recordings become something to hold onto. Something to come back to.

My hope is that this brings families closer, and that someday, when a child, a grandchild, or a great-grandchild asks a question about someone they never really got to know, there's an answer waiting for them — in that person's own voice. Something to fill the gap that time leaves behind.
